What time is check in?
Check in service begins at 3:00 PM. We will gladly provide you access to your room earlier if possible.
What time is check out?
Check out service ends at 11:00 AM at which point the guestroom must be vacated. Late check outs are available at a cost and are subject to availability.
Can I request a late check out?
Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown does whatever it can to keep its guests satisfied. We will gladly allow a late check out, on check out date, depending on availability. A late check out charge will apply with the amount depending on the check out time.
Is there wifi in every room?
Secure high speed wireless internet is offered for free throughout the property; whether it be guestrooms, poolside, restaurant dining room, communal areas, patios, or breakfast area.
Is there complimentary breakfast? If so, what is included?
Complimentary breakfast is offered to all guests who stay at Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown. Our complimentary breakfast buffet consists of scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, various cereals, flavoured oatmeals, bakery items, yogurts, preserves, juices, coffee (regular and decaf), tea, water, and citrus water.
** UPDATE: DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST BUFFET HAS BEEN SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY AND REPLACED WITH GRAB N GO OPTIONS.

Is there a restaurant/bar on-site?
Yes! Just off of the lobby is our on-site restaurant and pub, Uptown Lounge.
Guests who stay with Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown and dine at Uptown Lounge during their stay, receive a 10% discount on all applicable food purchases from the restaurant.
Do the rooms have a work space?
Each of our 62 guestrooms has a workspace along with complimentary access to our secure high-speed wireless internet. Documents can be printed at the reception via emailing the document or photo to firstname.lastname@example.org for printing and can be immediately picked up or delivered to the guestroom.
Is there an elevator to the second floor?
No. Our establishment does not currently have an elevator. If you require an accessible guestroom, please reach out to our friendly Reservations Team who would love to assist you with your request.

Please note: all 62 guestrooms have a 4 pc. bath, 42" flat panel TV, coffee maker, hair dryer, microwave, and mini fridge.
Are you pet-friendly?
Yes! All guestroom types
EXCEPT our King Jacuzzi and Queen Balcony Suites are pet-friendly for short term stays up to 8 nights. (Please contact our Reservations Team directly for stays longer than 8 nights - exceptions in our policies may be made on a case by case basis.
Pets must be declared at check in and owners will be held responsible for any damage or excessive mess caused by the pet in line with our
Hotel Policies & Terms of Service.
Certified Support Animals are not considered pets, and are welcome in all guestrooms. An additional deposit may occur in the event of a Certified Support Animal staying in a room that is not pet-friendly in the event of damage, excess shedding/hair, excessive mess, etc.
Can I request a cot/roll away bed?
You can request a rollaway bed for your guestroom when making the reservation to ensure its availability. The cost per night for rollaway beds is $10.
Can I request a crib for my child?
You can request a crib for your guestroom when making the reservation to ensure its availability. The cost per night for rollaway beds is $10.
** Please note: linen for cribs is will not be supplied for to ensure the health and safety of the child.
Do you accept cash or debit deposits?
No. We do not accept cash or debit deposits.
At this time, we currently only accept credit card preauthorizations as a means to guarantee a reservation.
Why do you need my credit card information? How secure is this?
Credit card information is used as a guarantee in the event a guest does not cancel within the alloted time frame or is a no-show. A late cancellation or no-show will result in additional fees equivalent to their first night stay.
Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
PCI DSS requires any organization that collects, processes, transmits or stores cardholder data, to uphold and maintain the data security standards that are set by the payment industry worldwide, and which are managed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).
All merchants who handle cardholder data must comply with PCI DSS and the Payment Card Networks’ Compliance Programs. Merchants that don't comply may be subject to fines, fees or assessments and/or termination of their processing services.
What is a credit card preauthorization?
A credit card preauthorization is a temporary hold placed by a merchant on a guests credit card, and reserves funds for a future payment transaction. This hold typically lasts between 1-10 business days depending on the Merchant Classification Code (MCC).
During the hold period, the funds are unavailable to the guest - they will not be able to withdraw it from an ATM, or spend it elsewhere. Although the funds cannot be accessed in the account, no money has been debited in the preauthorization. When it comes to finalize payment at check out, the funds on hold can the be "captured", meaning they are converted from a hold to a charge.
Why does the hotel need to preauthorize my credit card?
Hotels are one of the primary industries where preauthorizations are commonly used. Preauthorized payments for hotels enable funds to be hed either at the booking stage, or during check in. This ensures that when check out does come, there are funds available to cover any additional charges during the guests stay such as damage, meal charges, and other fees.
At Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown your credit card is preauthorized upon check in at the property.
How do I get to the hotel?
We are located near the corner of University Avenue and Capital Drive at 20 Capital Drive, Charlottetown, PE C1E 1E7. East of Rte 1 and West of Rte 2.
Can you recommend nearby restaurants?
Although we have a soft spot for our on-site restaurant Uptown Lounge, Charlottetown has many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines and dining experience for all budgets. Our Reservations Team would love to assist you with recommending a local restaurant based on your taste and budget. You may also consult the Explore PEI page.
Are there rooms with wheelchair access?
We have a limited number of rooms available that are fully wheelchair accessible. When contacting our Reservations Team, please advise us of your needs so we can ensure availability.
When is your pool open?
Our seasonal heated pool typically opens for the season mid-to-late-June, and closes mid-to-late-September - dates and timelines are subject to weather.
When it is open for the season, the hours of operation are Monday - Sunday 10 AM - 8 PM.
Is there a lifeguard on duty at your pool?
No. All swimming activities are at the swimmer/guardian's risk.
All children under 16 are to be supervised by an adult while swimming in the property pool.
Do you have an electric car charging station/port?
We do not currently have a electric car charging station on our property. However, our Reservations Team can assist with locating one nearby.
Can I book a smoking room?
Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown operates dilligently and dutifully within the Smoke Free Places Act enacted by the Government of Prince Edward Island. Smoking in guestrooms, indoor public areas, our on-site restaurant, the pool area and within close proximity to entrances, exits or windows. Guests may smoke within the designated smoking areas around the property.
If caught smoking in restricted areas, the guest will be charged $300.00 per offence.
I don't have a credit card, but a family member who is not coming on the trip is willing to do the preauthorization on their credit card. Is this possible?
Yes. If another party who will not be present at the time of check in will be using their credit card to secure the guestroom and incidentals, a Credit Card Authorization Form will need to be filled out and returned completed via fax,
email, mail or in person at check in.
Can I purchase a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased with a member of our Reservations Team.
If you are unable to pick up the gift card, it can be posted to you via mail.
How often does my room get cleaned during my stay?
Each day that you are staying with us (not including arrival, or check out date), our lovely Housekeeping Team will enter and refresh your guestroom between 9 AM - 4 PM.
Daily refreshing includes: sanitizing touch points, changing garbage, wiping down bathroom, replacing amenities, tidying up any used dishes, sweeping, mopping and vaccuuming.
Note: Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown does our part to reduce water consumption and be helpful to the environment. As such, bath towels will only be replaced in the event they are not hung and are located on the floor or within the tub and bed linen will be replaced upon request or after the third night stayed.

Are there guest laundry services on site?
No. We do not currently have guest laundry services on our property, however our friendly Reservations Team would be happy to recommend nearby laundromats.
